Tallinn Marathon in a wheelchair
I am not proud of receiving a medal and a diploma for completing the Tallinn Marathon virtual run in an electric wheelchair. This is because while other participants struggled with their physical abilities, I only struggled with two toes on my right foot that were gently holding the wheelchair joystick, and my focus on staying on the path. I probably didn’t burn any calories.
But in any case, it was very nice to participate. I covered over 42 kilometers on Tallinn’s bike paths and streets in a total time of 7 hours, 18 minutes, and 56 seconds. Yes, I am capable of going faster. However, for some reason, I uploaded one of the slower distances, and during the last segment, one of the front tires on my wheelchair went flat, which resulted in the time you see. But I’ll beat that time next time!
One of the longest of the three distances I covered was 25.3 kilometers. It took me just 2 hours and 17 minutes to complete. I started my journey heading from Kopli towards Haabersti. Using the bike paths, I suddenly noticed that I had reached Nõmme. So, on my way back, I passed by the buildings of Tallinn University of Technology, for example. It was quite a fun ride, considering that I had to navigate a lot in the Nõmme area.
In conclusion, I would say it was a really fun venture, and I am still proud that I did it!
